Things to do


Sorry, I’m not ignoring you. I just seem to be really busy at the times when I usually write my blog.

Things should get better now that I’ve bought some software to help me with my time management…

So far I’ve watched about 30 minutes of instruction video about how to manage my “to do” lists. Apparently every task that comes my way fits into one of four categories: tasks to ‘do’, tasks to ‘delay’, tasks to ‘delegate’ and tasks to ‘delete’. My objective is to get to ‘List Zero’ in which every item on my list of tasks to ‘do’ is ticked off at the end of each day.

Since I work on my own most of the time the list of tasks to delegate is unlikely to get to zero, ever.  Creating tasks to delete seems a bit futile. But I have discovered that the most effective way to get to ‘List Zero’ is to move all the tasks to ‘do’ on to the list of tasks to ‘delay’.

It’s amazing what you can do with a piece of software.

    Just to let you know, Alex. I was going to comment on this post, but I’ve moved the action from my ‘do’ list to my ‘delay’ list. OK?
