Mystry txt

The phone in the kitchen rang.“You have a new voice text,” said the Electric Lady. “To listen to your messages press 1, to save the message press 2…etc.”

I pressed 1. It was a text from a mobile number I did not recognise.

“I Love You ecks ecks ecks” read the Electric Lady.

I looked blankly at Mrs R. She looked at me equally blankly.

“An early Valentine?” I asked.

    We had one of these calls in the middle of the night (when the only reason your phone could be ringing is that someone has died) from a ‘friend’ who sent a text as she didn’t want to disturb us!
