Counting fingers

03Oct10

I opened the freezer and extracted one of the value packs of 14 fish fingers.

Fourteen?

How can a family pack of 14 fish fingers be useful? It’s not divisible three, four, five or six. In our family everyone expects equal distribution. If there are not equal shares, it can get nasty.

Fingers should come in multiples of five anyway.

I was cooking for three. For a moment I contemplated serving two portions of five fingers and one of four.  But four “value” fish fingers are not really enough for an adult or a growing teen.

With a sigh I opened the second pack and added another fish finger to the grill. I put the remaining 13 back in the freezer.

Thirteen?

What can you do with 13 fish fingers?

Packs of 14 were bogof so it was cheaper to get 4 packs of 14 than 1 pack of 40 for reasons best known to Mr Sainsbury. I didn’t realise it would cause so much consternation to the sous-chef.

At least it’s divisble by two.

Tesco’s almost always put 11 chicken wings in their packs. I have had 3, 4 and 5 dogs, so have had to buy 3, 4 and 5 packs. Hmm maybe that’s why……
    I really don’t want/can’t afford 11 dogs!
