Song and dance

“Aren’t you being a bit optimistic,” I said casually, “booking the band for our silver wedding party nearly two years in advance?”

Mrs R’s eyes narrowed. “What are you trying to say?” She enquired, sharply.

“Umm… Well, a lot can happen in twenty-two months. People change.” She raised her eyebrows. I went on, “all sorts of things could come up. Er… Just look at what happened to Michael Jackson. And they only booked him nine months ahead.”

“Well we have to book early.” Mrs R retorted. “They are a popular band and they get booked up months and months in advance.” She paused. “This is our party you know. You do want a party don’t you?”

“Yes. I suppose so.”

I hope that Liam doesn’t get laryngitis again.
